New virtual food and farm tours coming
Modern tech for a modern campaign

New food and farm virtual tours are now being developed, and the organization is using 360 degree video technology to do it.

As part of a focused effort to reach an ever-wider segment of the Canadian public, VirtualFarmTours.ca will be expanded to include tours of additional Canadian farms and food processors. Look for the latest tours this fall.

John Deere gets The Real Dirt on Farming
Flagship Farm & Food Care publication distributed by company

As a founding member of the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity and a supporter of Farm & Food Care Canada, John Deere inserted copies of The Real Dirt on Farming into both the Homestead and The Furrow magazines this past June. About 105,000 copies in both French and English were distributed to subscribers across Canada.

Accompanying the magazine was a story profiling Farm & Food Care projects - including Breakfast on the Farm and Virtual Farm & Food Tours - as well as the organization's partnership with the John Deere company.

Farm & Food Care Canada thanks John Deere for this great initiative.

Farm & Food Care sponsors Canadian Science Writers' conference

123 journalists, communicators, students, and leading scientists from across North America convened in Guelph in early June for the Canadian Science Writers Association's annual conference. Farm & Food Care Canada was there in person and as an event sponsor, helping connect attendees with the science behind agriculture.

The first day saw tours highlighting University of Guelph agricultural research facilities and programs, while days two and three were devoted to a variety of speakers and workshop sessions. Farm & Food Care's sponsorship supported Greg Hannam, a local farmer and grain seed dealer, as a feature reception speaker, and provided The Real Dirt on Farming in all delegate packages.
