Praying Against Oppression
The LORD loves righteousness & justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. -Psalm 33:5
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you. -Psalm 89:4
Lord Jesus, we come before Your throne of righteousness and justice. As we come near, we are grateful for Your love and faithfulness that envelop the earth. May the kindness You have shown us, be poured out on every people group of the high places we are praying for today.
You see the oppression of many who are helpless and have been exploited. Provide for those who have worked so hard, but have been denied provision. Protect and administer justice to those who have been abused by local government leaders. We also ask that You would raise up leaders who will walk in integrity and do what is right for the people in their communities. We look to the promises of Your word that says: "You will take pity on the weak and needy, and deliver them from oppression" (Psalm 72:13).
We declare that these people are precious in Your sight, and that You will not forget them. For it is for them, dear Savior, You have come. Amen.
