Prayer for Naypyidaw, Burma (Myanmar)
He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea,
And everything in them. He remains faithful forever.
He upholds the cause of the oppressed
And gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind,
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
The Lord loves the righteous.
Maker of heaven and earth, we pray for Burma and its capital, Naypyidaw. We ask that You would look upon those who have been affected by political and economic injustice over the years. So many have attempted to stand up for justice, but have paid with their lives or years of incarceration.
According to Your word, we ask that You would uphold the cause of the oppressed, set the prisoners free, and lift up those who are bowed down under the weight of poverty and cruelty. We say, "NO MORE to forced labor, sex trafficking and terror. We bind the spirit of greed and idolatry that seeks to deceive those in power, saying that oppression of the poor and defenseless is acceptable."
Lord God, pour out a lavish spirit of compassion in the government. We bless those in leadership who seek to bring blessing and opportunity for every person, no matter what background or culture. We release favor and provision for economic and educational opportunities. We ask that Burma will step in to its incredible potential. You have blessed this land with many natural riches. May it be used to support the people and infrastructure of this country.
Redeemer of Burma, we thank You for Your faithfulness, which remains forever. We thank You that You have heard our cry for this land and its precious people. In Jesus' name, amen.
