-Psalm 46:9-10Lord God, we come to you on behalf of the city of Kabul, perched among the mountains. You have observed the many entities that have been worshiped there for hundreds of years that have separated those made in Your image from a reconciled love relationship with You. The people of this city have endured years of hostility and chaos. So we ask You now to make wars to cease, to "shatter the bow and the spear" of violence. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in Kabul as it is in heaven.
We ask You to dismantle all the forces of evil in Kabul and release a sense of calm among the leaders and the entire population. We pray that men and women of peace will be given a voice to enact righteousness for the oppressed and be empowered to make decisions that bring order and stability. You have the power to make wars to cease. We ask that You would cause the people of Kabul to hear Your Spirit drawing them to reconciliation with each other and You.
Jesus, we ask for a new season of empowerment among the Afghani women, that by Your divine grace, they would find a platform to be a voice for truth and justice in their nation. We bless the advocates, educators, doctors, and homemakers with help from heaven. Let fresh favor and wisdom be granted to them in this season of transition in their nation: infuse courage and creativity as they consider their role of impact. We claim Your word, "The Lord gives the command; the women who proclaim the good tidings are a great host." (Psalm 68:11)
In agreement with Your word, we say, "Be exalted among the nations! Be exalted in the earth," and be exalted in Afghanistan! We look for the dawn of Your glory with great expectation and hope. In Jesus' name, amen.
