Greetings!
Praying for an Increase of Harvest Workers to Serve the Pashtun People
The Pashtuns are one of the largest Muslim ethnic groups on earth, mostly residing in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The vast majority are unreached with the gospel. When we pray, we participate with God in his plan to reach them with the love and peace of Christ.
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." (Matthew 9:35-38)
Lord of the harvest, when You look upon the crowds of people throughout this world who are troubled and helpless, You are moved with compassion. Your face turns towards us to ask: "Ask Me to send workers to this plentiful harvest field."
Jesus, we say YES. At Your command, we stand on this mandate and ask for thousands of people to be released, anointed and blessed to take the message of Your gospel to the Pashtun people. We pray that the sick will be healed, that the tormented will be released from their burdens, and the good news of the kingdom will flourish throughout the land. Multiply the efforts of each believer and release a shield of protection over them. Lord, we ask for a release of ample provision, protection and favor with the Pashtun.
We bless the secret believers in the community. Give them courage, wisdom and a "hearing" within their communities. May the light and peace of God shine through their lives, and as they are asked to give a reason for the hope within them, may they do so with authority and power.
In Jesus' name, amen.
