Innovations in Care Delivery

Nurses as Care Coordinators
Recent research initiatives discovered that some of the most innovative nursing-driven models of health care involved elevating the role of nurses from caregivers to care coordinators. NCP consultants are leading nationally in this area. Learn more about the RN Care Coordination: Practice, Education & Certification by attending Dr. Vicki's George presentation in Long Beach, CA in September. Click here for more information. Her recent publication in Leaders: Are you ready for change? The clinical nurse as care coordinator in the new health care system in Nursing Administration Quarterly discusses the essentials needed for this change. Follow this link for more information.

Nursing Peer Review
Creating a professional practice environment that supports clinical nurses to practice at their highest level of autonomy and promotes accountability for patient outcomes is part of the national conversation to promote patient quality and safety. Learn more from our NCP consultants who are experts in this area by reading their article in this months JONA on Peer Review in Nursing: Essential Components of a Model Supporting Safety and Quality.

What Others are Saying About Our Recent Workshops

~ The workshop provided by NCP was a highly educational, motivational, and an inspiring experience for me as a new MPD.  I have a much more clear understanding of the Magnet Model®, Magnet® principles, and lastly the Sources of Evidence required for a successful journey to Magnet Designation®.  The presenter used a unique blend of teaching strategies to engage all levels of learners, regardless of where you are on the Magnet® journey or re-designating for Magnet® under the 2014 Magnet® application manual.  The presenters demonstrated the ability to blend educational content to include Magnet® standards and sources of evidence by using examples which meet the intent of the standard.  I have attended several workshops and conferences the previous two years and found this workshop to be exceptional! The overall experience to me personally was invaluable for assisting us with our journey to Magnet®!

~ Great - fantastic job!

Thank you to Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Middlesex Hospital for hosting.
