Happy Holidays from Nursing Consulting Partners

We hope you enjoy a holiday filled with family,
friends and a wonderful New Year!

Congratulations to NCP Client
Middlesex Hospital!
Middletown, CT

Middlesex Hospital was initially designated in 2001 as the first ANCC Magnet® hospital in Connecticut and the 35th Magnet® hospital in the country. In September 2014, the organization was designated as a Magnet® facility for the fourth consecutive time. At this year's national Magnet Conference®, nurse leaders presented their work in sustaining this designation over the course of significant changes in the internal and external environment. NCP consultants Colleen Smith and Kathleen Stolzenberger, the prior CNO and MPD, joined the current CNO Jackie Calamari and MPD Kelly Nicholson in presenting the "8R Framework for Re-Designation." They described the  "paradox of progress"  experienced by many re-designating facilities, incorporating strategies to address anticipated changes. Dr. Stolzenberger partnered with Middlesex leaders to submit their fourth document and helped prepare the organization for a successful site visit that demonstrated the organization's longstanding culture of excellence.

Kelly Nicholson at Middlesex is among the first to participate in NCP's MPD Mentoring Program for a new generation of Magnet® project directors.
