Magnet® Lecture in Germany:
On November 27th, Barb Haag-Heitman presented a lecture in Germany on "Magnet® - An International Road map to Nursing Excellence" to graduate nursing students at the Fachhochshcule Muenster - University of Applied Sciences, Muenster, Germany. Students were enthusiastic about the novelty and potential of applying these concepts in Germany. To support the presentation, Barb was able to use the German translation of the Magnet® Model components, ANCC Die Komponenten Und Belege Der Evidenz Des Magnet-Modells, by ANCC Commission Franz Wagner.

NCP's Consultants Complete Magnet® Course:
NCP Consultants Vicki George, Fran Hicks, Barb Haag-Heitman, Vickie Moore and Kathleen Stolzenberger completed the ANCC Fundamentals of Magnet® course. This is the ANCC's new professional credential for consultants who guide hospitals as they apply for Magnet® recognition.

New Article on The Clinical Nurse As Care Coordinator:
Vicki Gorge and Julie Shocksnider co-authored a new article in Nursing Administration Quarterly titled, Leaders:  Are You Ready for Change?  The Clinical Nurse As Care Coordinator in the New Health Care System.  Care coordination is an integral piece for the success of health care reform.  Nurses are positioned to be able to bring a strong perspective for assisting individual's health needs across the continuum .  Nurses are not being currently prepared to provide care coordination and nurse leaders will need to restructure and engage with nursing roles to provide resource for new educational curriculums.
