Spring Picture Day --  Wed., April 17

Lifetouch will be taking the spring pictures using their pre-paid system.  The coompany will collect the pre-paid order envelopes at the camera.  Therefore, only students who pre-pay will have their pictures taken.  Students may wear free dress for these pictures.  With pre-pay, parents may purchase as little as one item or a set of pictures making spring pictures more affordable than ever.  The pictures will also be delivered much sooner.

On the same day, Kindergarteners and eighth graders will also have their graduation portraits taken.  The company will provide the caps and gowns; students just need to wear their full uniform (they may bring a change of clothes for free dress and spring pictures).  We will appreciate any parent volunteers who can assist the Kindergarten class that morning.

Camp Izza Not Offered this Summer

"As the Pages Turn" - A Musical Theater Club Performance on Wed., April 10

Please join us next Wed., April 10 at 2:30 pm in the Adaya Auditorium as the Musical Theater Club of New Horizon School puts on "As the Pages Turn," a play by Janet Gardner. In this humorous play, we meet reference books and magazines who feel they are being pushed out of the library by the Power Macs. Things change when the bookworms and viruses get involved as well! Interspersed with famous classical songs, we learn about how we all make an important contribution to the world around us. See the flyer.

Qur'an Challenge Participants

Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the Lower School Qur'an Challenge this year.  Students recited Suras from the 30th part of the Quran that have already been covered in their grade level curriculum. Kindergarten students are given a special certificate and will have the opportunity to earn recitation pins in first grade. Students in grades 1-4 will be awarded recitation pins during their Islamic Studies period on Friday, April 5.   First time participants are awarded a gold moon and star pin, and each consecutive year that they participate, they are awarded a yearly star pin.  We encourage students to wear these pins on their dress uniform sweaters.
