Meet the 2014 Fight for Charity Boxers

The 11th Fight for Charity is just four months away.

Fans and Fighters get ready to make this year's Main Event

on November 24th our most successful fundraiser ever.

"Superfly"

Jamie Stuart

Jamie "Superfly" Stuart decided he wanted to put his hands in boxing gloves to raise funds for charity. Jamie is the Emmy Award - Winning full-time Weekend Sports Anchor/Weekday Sports Reporter on News 12 Long Island. No doubt he will not be camera-shy when he enters the ring and shows off his footwork and punches in the Main Event.

Since he was a little kid, Jamie enjoyed all sorts of sports, but he figured out early on that he was not going to get into the big leagues. He shifted his focus to talking about sports, and it became clear he had a natural talent for reporting on sporting events.

Now Jamie is in training at Body Shot Boxing, in St. James, and starting to feel like a boxer. He hopes to be a champ for charity and help Fight for Charity reach its fund-raising goal. He's no stranger to good causes. He is a supporter of the Lustgarden Foundation and its mission to find a cure for pancreatic cancer.

Jamie and his wife Jeanine have two daughters, Gracie and Skylar, and reside in East Setauket.

"Case Closed"

John Dalli

John Dalli was convinced it was a good idea to get back in training and box in the 2014 Long Island Fight for Charity. He is a returning boxer from 2008.

John is a founding partner in the law firm of Dalli & Marino, LLP. Established in 1996, the Mineola firm handles malpractice cases involving nursing homes and hospitals, cases representing construction workers injured on the job, a variety of real estate matters and general litigation.

There is no doubt John likes to have his cases closed to the satisfaction of his clients. John "Closed Case" Dalli plans to meet his opponent in the ring in November and believes the judges will make the right decision. "I'm putting my gloves back on this year to help raise funds to benefit the charities that work hard to make a difference in the lives of Long Islanders who are in need of support," John said.

John is an active member in the Columbian Lawyers Association and the New York City Bar Association. He is often called upon to speak on the legal aspects of nursing home negligence and elder care abuse.

John resides in Lattingtown with his wife Marie and their three children.

"Limo King
of the Ring"

Joe Palumbo

Joe "Limo King of the Ring" Palumbo returns as a 2014 boxer for the Long Island Fight for Charity. When he isn't training to beat his adversaries, he is a managing partner at Camelot Specialty Limos, a family-owned and operated full-service limousine and airport/point to point ground transportation company that specializes in weddings, proms, Sweet 16s, wine tours, bachelor/bachelorette parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, and many other occasions.

Success is nothing out of the ordinary for Joe, especially having won the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Long Island Best of LI winner in the Weddings and Ground Transportation categories. Additionally, Joe along with his brother and Partner Peter have led their company to becoming a five-time winner on liweddings.com, a two-time best of weddings winner on TheKnot.com, and a three-time bride's choice award on WeddingWire.com

Joe and his brother Peter are also known for their widespread charitable efforts including his contributions to foundations such as the Winthrop Cancer Center for Kids, Boys Town, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, North Shore/LIJ, Animal Lover's League, the Nassau County Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Because of his passion for helping others and ability to facilitate success no matter the situation, Joe knows he is more than ready for this year's Fight for Charity boxing event.

Joe's advice for success is, "Make the dream a goal, and a goal - the Reality. With Strategy, Desire, and Hard Work - we all have the ability to make it happen."

"The Sweetest Sin"

Wendy Sincuir

Wendy, a Port Chester resident, says her three-and-half-year-old son Julian is her inspiration to train and get in the ring again this year. When Wendy isn't working alongside high-end investment, accounting, legal, and risk management clients at American Business in New York City, a life insurance resource boutique for the nation's leading financial advisory firms, she can be found in the gym. Wendy "The Sweetest Sin" Sincuir knows from experience that her personal training routine will work to her advantage in the Main Event.

"The 2013 event was an outstanding success, so I'm setting both my training goals and fund-raising goals even higher to see how far I can push myself," Wendy said. An avid supporter of many charities including the Wounded Warrior Project, Wendy is no stranger to what it takes to achieve an organization's fund-raising goals.
