Greetings!
What a busy time. We've made it through a tight election and two exceptional weather systems, one of them quite devastating to certain communities. Hurricane Sandy brought a host of challenges for the Beet, and we are grateful that some of our members and friends were able to lend a hand as the storm loomed. With the help of some good samaritans, a few local generators and many donated coolers, we were able to salvage almost all of our perishable inventory, resulting in very little loss to our co-op. We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who were able to help us "save the day." And we hope everyone in our community is fully recovered from Sandy and back into normalcy.
Despite all our recent challenges, we're fortified and ready to roll. As Thanksgiving nears the bend, The Beet is happy to be your first stop in stocking up for the big day! We have all the essentials needed for a great feast, including baking supplies and goodies like organic cranberries and sauce, Farmers Cow cider, bulk grains, nuts and organic produce galore. And be sure to chat with Clara, our Produce Coordinator, to request your favorite organic fruits and veggies for Thanksgiving. We love an excuse to source unusual items!
Also for Thanksgiving, we are once again taking pre-orders for farm-raised, free-range turkeys and fabulous, homemade pies from the Queen of Tarts - but you must act quickly. Details on that and more below. |
