An Incredible 11th Grade Trip
by Zev Markowitz ('15)
 Many pictures have been added!

This past Wednesday and Thursday, the MTA juniors went on an amazing grade trip.  The trip started off with some bowling starring Rabbi Mendelson!  We then they went on to a Connecticut sports complex where we enjoyed whirlyball, laser tag, football and soccer with the Israelis.

The day wasn't over yet and the trip continued in Waterbury where we went to a Shiur by the Rosh Yeshiva there, Rabbi Keilish, which was followed by a Chinese dinner. Then came the most anticipated activity of the day - snow tubing. The juniors flipped and flew down the slopes!

We then went to the hotel in which we stayed the night, and the next morning we went to the indoor park at the hotel which was enjoyable for everyone.  At the skating rink, the juniors decided to take the skates off and go onto the ice to play some broomball.  The games were filled with intensity and the scores always tight, but there can only be one winner.

Congratulations to Ami Rosenfeld, Ilan Steinmetz, Guti, Yisrael Friedenberg, Jeremy Borgen, Nir Alone and Zev Markowitz on going undefeated and winning dinner at the Weinsteins. Also congrats to co-MVPs Ilan Steinmetz and Zev Markowitz.

Special thanks to Rabbi Green, Mr. Gillers and Rabbi Danto for making the trip possible.
Former MTA Lions Star Yisrael Feld Named Skyline Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-Conference

NEW YORK, N.Y.- The Skyline Conference announced today that amongst its men's basketball all-conference members is Yeshiva guard
Yisrael Feld who was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year as well as a second team All-Skyline member for the 2013-14 men's basketball season.

Feld had an outstanding first year with the Maccabees, leading the team and finishing high in the conference in several statistical categories.

The 6 foot Teaneck, N.J. native averaged 16.0 points per game which led the Maccabees and is currently fourth in Skyline (not all Skyline teams are finished playing) and dished out 2.92 assists, which was first on the team and ninth in the conference. He connected on 34 three point field goals and shot 34.3 percent (34-for-99) from behind the arc.

A five time Rookie of the Week selection, he scored 20 points or more eight times this season, and netted a season-high 28 points in three games, including a game at Sage College on Dec. 8, at Old Westbury on Feb. 8 and vs. Maritime on Feb. 22
