Foundation Names New CEO
Seasoned Community Leader to Take the Helm
SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 5, 2013 - The Sacramento Region Community Foundation Board of Directors today announced that Linda Beech Cutler will join the Foundation as its next CEO. According to Bob Earl, who chaired the board's search committee, "Linda Cutler emerged as the individual who best embodies everything we were looking for. Not only does she exemplify the requisite skills and leadership capabilities, but she has developed and demonstrated those skills locally in the Sacramento region." Cutler's appointment was the culmination of a national search to replace departing CEO, Ruth Blank, whose eight-year tenure saw a rise in the Foundation's prominence and engagement in key community issues.
According to Cutler, "I look forward to working with the Foundation's donors, community partners, board and staff to build on the vital work that has been done over the past 30 years to strengthen our nonprofit sector, enriching every aspect of community life."
Cutler comes to the Foundation with a breadth of leadership experience in both for-profit and nonprofit work. She served most recently as Deputy Director of Commercial Strategy for the Sacramento County Airport System following her tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Mercy Foundation. Cutler also acted as Vice President of Corporate Communications and Corporate Responsibility for GenCorp, parent company of Aerojet, and served as President of the GenCorp Foundation. Prior to joining GenCorp in 2002, Linda worked for what is now DST Systems in numerous marketing capacities including Vice President of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations.
A resident and active member of the Sacramento community for 19 years, Cutler has been widely recognized as a thoughtful and effective business and civic leader and has served on numerous nonprofit boards and commissions. Cutler was chair of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce in 2009 and was reappointed to the Board in 2012. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of Valley Vision and Drexel University's Advisory Board. She is also a member of the Steering Committee for Next Economy and is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum's Mountain Valley Chapter. |
