David McWilliams

Weltman Bernfield LLC is pleased to announce the promotion of David McWilliams, CPA, to Manager of Tax Services. In his new role, McWilliams will be responsible for reviewing federal and state income tax returns for the firm's top clients; training all new hires in tax return preparation and tax law; assisting in complex tax research; and designing and implementing procedures to improve tax department quality control. 


"David demonstrates the requisite aptitude for handling complex assignments," says David Simon, Director of Tax Services. "He has garnered high praise from several clients and his work product is uniformly excellent. We feel he is an exemplary choice for this position."


"I'm excited to take on a more visible role and look forward to providing more support to both our clients and staff," says McWilliams.


McWilliams' previous work at Weltman Bernfield included preparing complex income tax returns and assisting in various consulting projects. Before joining Weltman Bernfield, McWilliams was a Senior Associate-General Practice Group at a CPA firm in Seattle, Washington, where he did a variety of tax work and reviewed/compiled financial statements for a broad spectrum of company types that varied in size and industry. Prior to that, he worked as a team member at a CPA firm in Northbrook, Illinois, where he performed a combination of audit, financial statement review and compilation, and tax work. McWilliams received his BBA - Accounting from Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
