Their "Earn A Bike" program provides volunteers who contribute 5-10 hours a donated bicycle that they fix themselves with the help of staff.
"We hope that by learning to put their own bikes together, people will gain a greater sense of ownership and responsibility for the bikes," says program Director Bonnie Anderson, "along with heightened self sufficiency and self-esteem."
The next big event for the BF Community Bike Project?
A community-wide planning meeting on January 15th. "We want to get input on how we can best serve the community," Bonnie says, "that's what we need to move forward."

Wintervale's Back & Better than Ever!
Winter is here and so is skiing in Burlington's Intervale! Enjoy 3 miles of groomed XC ski trails in the Intervale when weather permits throughout the winter, as well as "pop-up" Wintervale events with
demos, free ski and snowshoe rentals, kids activities, food and more!
Wintervale will take place two Sundays this winter (dates TBD) from 10am - 2pm, weather permitting. To ensure we get one good day in, February 16th is scheduled rain-or-shine!
A big thanks to the Intervale Center, The Intervale Community Farm, Burlington Parks & Recreation, SkiRack, the Intramural Nordic Gentlemen of Burlington and the volunteer groomers for making this possible!
