Destiny Tolliver '10 (NDP) and Doug Brown '70 (NDHS) to be inducted into the CHSL Hall of Fame
Two former Notre Dame athletes and the school's booster club will be honored at this year's Detroit Catholic High School League (CHSL) Hall of Fame banquet on June 9.
Destiny Tolliver '10 (Notre Dame Prep), a captain on the University of New Hamphire's volleyball team during her senior year, and Doug Brown '70 (NDHS), a former steeplechase Olympian who graduated from Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods in 1970, will be inducted into the CHSL Hall of Fame. Tolliver is inducted because she is a graduating college senior athlete, and Brown will be inducted as an "alumni" athlete since he graduated from college before the CHSL began inducting college seniors in 1976.
In addition, NDPMA's booster club will be honored as the league's Booster Club of the Year at the annual event. According to the CHSL, which consistently recognizes the importance of parent boosters to its league-member schools, Notre Dame Prep's booster club was "commended for supporting your school and the Notre Dame Preparatory School athletic community. The sound athletic program and the solid education that is your trademark are due in part to your organization's active role and commitment to growth.
