Westshore Master Plan Public Meetings

  We are nearing completion of the Westshore Master Plan.  Learn more about the plan by attending a public information meeting on April 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn at Avion Park.  There will be two sessions - one at 9 am and one at 5 pm.  The plan includes a vision for specific improvements to streets, sidewalks, parks, etc. that will foster new private-sector investment and create opportunities for economic development throughout Westshore.   For more information contact Ann Kulig.

I-275 Construction Update

Another big traffic change due to the I-275 reconstruction occurs this month - the entrance ramp to northbound I-275 from Lois Avenue is scheduled to close at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9. It is estimated to remain closed until late 2014. The closure is necessary to accommodate new bridge construction. Volunteers needed for the Great American Cleanup

Performance Bicycle, the country's largest independent cycling retailer has opened a store at 625 N. Dale Mabry Highway.

The Richman Group has filed an application to rezone property at Grady & Spruce (currently occupied by Without Walls Church) to build 557 apartments. The site would also accommodate restaurant and retail space along Boy Scout Blvd.  City Council has scheduled an April 11 public hearing on the rezoning request.  

Modera Westshore Apartments, under construction at Spruce and Trask, has announced that the first units will be available for move-in this summer.    

Varela Westshore, a new 350 unit apartment complex at the corner of Spruce & Lois, is scheduled to break ground in May.  First units will be available for move-in in 2014.

Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant, recently opened at MetWest International, has rolled out a new happy hour menu featuring $6.99 appetizers and $5 wines and wine specialty drinks from 3 to 6 pm, Monday through Friday.  

The school year is coming to a close and the PTSA for Roland Park K-8 Magnet School for International Studies is planning a host of activities for the Teacher and Support Staff Appreciation Week - May 6 to 10.
