Kinetic Ring Sculpture Dedication!
Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Alliance Executive Director Ron Rotella and neighborhood representatives recently dedicated Kinetic Ring, a new sculpture at the intersection of Kennedy Blvd. & Memorial Highway (across from WestShore Plaza). "The corner occupied by Kinetic Ring is a highly-traveled gateway for visitors traveling from the airport and area residents driving into Tampa," said Mayor Buckhorn. Designed by local artist Catherine Woods, the steel and glass sculpture includes glass panels which are painted and etched with images taken from the area. The shape of the glass suggests a kinetic appearance. Woods' large-scale sculptures can be seen in St. Petersburg, FL, Reno, NV, Kansas City, KS and now Tampa.
