Westshore Area News & Opportunities

Westshore Master Plan Update

Work is progressing rapidly on the Westshore Master Plan.  The plan will be complete early next year and will identify specific improvements to streets, sidewalks, parks, etc. that will foster new private-sector investment and create opportunities for economic development throughout Westshore.  Thanks to the 30 Westshore area business leaders that participated in our design workshop on October 9.  The draft plan for improvements should be complete in December.  We will begin an extensive public input process early next year.   For more information contact Ann Kulig.

I-275 Reconstruction from Lois Ave. to Downtown Tampa

Tampa Bay Interstates Logo

Construction swings into high gear this month on the I-275 reconstruction project between Westshore and downtown.  The biggest change?   Southbound I-275 exits to Howard/Armenia and Himes Avenue are scheduled to change on November 8 as follows:   Traffic will exit to the LEFT to Howard/Armenia. While the ramp to Himes Avenue will still exit to the right, it will be much closer to Himes Avenue than the long ramp system that has been in place for the past 2 ½ years.

For more information about the project, visit www.myTBI.com.   To receive our weekly traffic alerts email related to the reconstruction, click here to update your profile or subscribe (be sure to select Westshore Traffic News).
