I-275 Reconstruction from Lois Ave. to Downtown Tampa
Florida Department of Transportation has just embarked on a multi- year project to reconstruct the I-275 southbound lanes from the Hillsborough River to Lois Avenue and the northbound lanes from Lois Avenue to Himes Avenue. Project completion is scheduled for summer of 2016. The first noticeable traffic impacts will most likely be on the southbound lanes between downtown and Himes Avenue as they reconfigure the current exit for Howard/Armenia and Himes. To receive our weekly traffic alerts email related to the reconstruction, click here to update your profile or subscribe (be sure to select Westshore Traffic News).
The project will also include construction of a multi-use path running parallel to the Interstate from Dale Mabry to Hesperides. The Westshore Alliance is working with City of Tampa to provide connections from this new trail to Cypress Point Park.

The trail from Bayport Plaza to the Hillsborough County line is expected to be completed in summer of 2013 with the complete connection to Pinellas County completed by early 2016. The trail will link recreation areas such as Cypress Point Park, Skyway Park and Ben T. Davis Beach with the well-developed trail system in Pinellas.
