afaAFA Global Fellows visit the Netherlands

Last year IIE partnered with Agricultural Future of America (AFA) to develop a tailor-made two week study tour in three countries; Bolivia, Thailand and the Netherlands for their AFA Global Fellows. The program aims to help emerging young leaders prepare for careers in the field of agriculture and the food industry.

IIE's European Office implemented the Netherlands-based portion of the program, leading nine students around the country in late December, where they took part in formal presentations, informal discussions, industry visits and even a service project component, all related to Dutch agriculture. In mid-January the students returned from their respective target countries and gathered in Washington D.C. for a debriefing where they shared their new experiences and agricultural findings.

berrieRussell Berrie Fellowship - Israel Study Tour

As part of the Russell Berrie Fellowship each year the fellows get to take part in a ten-day study tour in Israel. This year between January 25 and February 3 the group of fellows visited the sacred sites of all three Abrahamic religions, studied at the Shalom Hartman Institute and met with prominent leaders from all three faiths. This served as an unparalleled opportunity for the fellows to experience interreligious dialogue in practice.
