We are excited to share two special announcements this week, the release of IIE's 2015 Open Doors Report including data highlights from Europe, and the start of this year's International Education Week.
2015 Open Doors Report

IIE is pleased to announce the release of the 2015 Open DoorsŪ Report on International Educational Exchange.

This year's report finds that the number of international students at colleges and universities in the United States increased by 10.0% to a record high of 974,926 students in the 2014/15 academic year. U.S. students studying abroad increased by 5.2 % over the previous year, the highest rate of growth since before the 2008 economic downturn. U.S. student participation in study abroad has more than tripled over the past two decades.

Open DoorsŪ, supported by a grant from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, is a comprehensive information resource on international students and scholars studying or teaching at higher education institutions in the United States, and U.S. students studying abroad for academic credit at their home colleges or universities.

The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the Institute of International Education will host a press briefing in Washington, DC on Monday, November 16th to present data from the 2015 Open Doors Report.
