A New Initiative from IIE
Last month IIE launched Generation Study Abroad, a new initiative with a commitment to doubling the number of U.S. students studying abroad by the end of the decade. Learn more in the press release below:
NEW YORK, March 3, 2014-The Institute of International Education (IIE) officially launched Generation Study Abroad, a five-year initiative that brings leaders in education, business and governments together to double the number of U.S. college students studying abroad. IIE has already identified more than 150 lead partners who have committed to specific, measureable actions that will help reach this ambitious goal; the result will be thousands more American students graduating with the international experience necessary for success in a globalized world. IIE Europe's Commitment to Study Abroad
The IIE European Office has supported U.S. study abroad since 2000 with a broad range of Short-term Visit Programs bringing everyone from first generation college students to graduate researchers to countries across the continent.
Examples include the NSF funded Central European Summer Research Institute, and the Dorrance Scholars Summer Seminar.
We look forward to working with you all over the next five years, and sharing our commitment to the exchange of people and ideas between Europe and the U.S., as well as Europe and the world.

Klein Family Scholarship - 2014 Winner
IIE Europe is pleased to announce the 2014 recipient of the Klein Family Scholarship.
Zsanett P�ter will graduate from Karolina High School in Szeged, Hungary this summer. Not only has she excelled academically in Hungary, but was also successful during the year she studied at a U.S. high school, having been a member of the National Honor Society. She has always been active in her community, including her experiences as a volunteer at a hospital, a fundraiser for her school and member of several student clubs. Zsanett is mainly interested in medicine, and looks forward to exploring all the benefits of a liberal arts education when she begins her studies in the U.S. this fall.
The Klein Family Scholarship is available to Hungarian high school students to receive a Bachelor's Degree at Sewanee: The University of the South, located in the state of Tennessee in the United States.
