Through the program so far GE has provided a competitive edge to 462 talented students from the CEE region, helping to build a regional network of leaders and contributing to the development of the region's human capital.
Annual scholarships of 1,500 euro were presented by Budapest Bank President & CEO George Zolnay to each of the eight Hungarian winners of the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Program at an award ceremony in Budapest on May 16, 2013. Dorrance Scholars Summer Seminar 2013

This year's Dorrance Scholarship Program study tour will take place in Turkey, Italy, Hungary, Austria and the Czech Republic between May 17 and June 17.
During this month-long journey, the young scholars will have the chance to experience a wealth of culture firsthand: masterpieces of art, religion, music and architecture, history and literature. The program offers students a truly unique set of opportunities to expand their horizons-both literally and figuratively-and grow as scholars and individuals.
A component of the Dorrance Scholarship Program, which provides full scholarships for Arizona residents to complete undergraduate degrees at one of the three public universities of Arizona, the seminar takes up to 20 scholars annually on a month-long tour of selected European countries, incorporating visits and experiences specially tailored to themes of history and art.

Russell Berrie Fellow Profile | Taras Dzyubanskyy
Taras Dzyubanskyy, a Russell Berrie Fellow from 2011, arrived in Rome with many diverse experiences under his belt already--only to excel even further during his fellowship and afterwards. Coming from Ukraine, Taras had a vast experience in pastoral work in Kazakhstan during the years of his college formation. He then went on to study abroad in the U.S. which he described as an "invaluable experience." While actually "living" interreligious dialogue in a country where religious pluralism is the norm and dialogue is a must, Taras went further by teaching religion and catechesis at schools and parishes and volunteering at a soup kitchen. After finishing his BA degree in Philosophy at St. Basil College in Stamford, CT, Taras continued his studies at the Angelicum in Rome. He was awarded the Russell Berrie Fellowship in Interreligious Studies in 2011 to support his doctoral studies. While studying in Rome, Taras also volunteered at the Ukrainian Embassy to the Vatican helping to organize meetings and events for the Ukrainian community visiting and living in Italy. After finishing his studies in Rome, Taras returned to his native Ukraine where he is working in the City Hall of Lviv as an adviser to the mayor on religious issues. He has also established a center for interreligious dialogue in Lviv - a project that was inspired by his experiences with the Russell Berrie Fellowship. The Libertas Center for Interconfessional and Interreligious Dialogue, opened on May 7, is a non-profit organization which aims at promoting interconfessional and interreligious dialogue and understanding in Ukraine and abroad.
