Klein Family Scholarship - 2013 Winner
 
We are pleased to announce the 2013 recipient of the Klein Family Scholarship.

 

Virág Turcsán will graduate from Ady Endre Secondary School in Debrecen, Hungary this year. An outstanding student, she is enrolled in the school's bilingual program. She has participated in numerous extracurricular activities, and has traveled extensively. Virág worked at the London Olympics and Paralympics in 2012. She participated in the Youth Leadership Program with Central Europe and the European Youth Parliament. She has also been an active member of the Model United Nations Club, the Debate Club, and served on the board of the Student Union. She is mainly interested in political science and international relations, and looks forward to beginning her studies in the U.S. this fall.

 

The Klein Family Scholarship is available to Hungarian high school students to receive a Bachelor's Degree at Sewanee: The University of the South, located in the state of Tennessee in the United States.

Whitaker Grantee Enrichment Seminar 2013

 


This week the Fourth Annual Whitaker Grantee Enrichment Seminar is taking place in Budapest, April 23-27, 2013.

 

The Whitaker International Fellows and Scholars Program which IIE administers on behalf of the Whitaker Foundation, sends emerging leaders in U.S. biomedical engineering (or bioengineering) to undertake a self-designed project at top research institutions around the world. 

 

58 Scholars and Fellows have gathered in Budapest to present their research projects, network, and enjoy cultural activities. The grantees are joined by 12 members of the Steering and Review Committees from top U.S. research institutions.
