Russell Berrie Fellowship in Interreligious Studies
The Russell Berrie Fellowship in Interreligious Studies is now accepting applications for the academic year 2013-14.

The Fellowship offers priests and members of the laity an opportunity to study at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum), in Rome, to obtain a Certificate in Interreligious Studies [PDF, 662 KB]. The Certificate allows those who are not qualified for entrance into the Licence program at the Angelicum the opportunity to explore various aspects of interreligious issues at a Pontifical University.
The award provides one year of financial support for Russell Berrie Fellows, covering tuition, a modest living stipend and book allowance, examination fees, and travel to and from the recipient's home country. The aim of the Fellowship Program is to build bridges between Christian, Jewish, and other religious traditions by providing the next generation of religious leaders with a comprehensive understanding of and dedication to interfaith issues. Applicants of all faiths and backgrounds from around the world - including students who are currently enrolled at the Angelicum - who have a demonstrated interest in Interreligious Studies, are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is March 22, 2013. Further information, including the application form, can be found at www.iie.eu/berrie.

Kompas - for future leaders in Central Eastern Europe

Special announcement on behalf of Common Purpose Hungary, IIE Europe's strategic partner:
Kompas, meaning "compass" in Czech, Polish and Slovak, is part of a series of Ventures run by Common Purpose that will expand, enrich and energize relations between Central Eastern European countries. The Venture will bring together leaders to develop and work together in a fresh and exciting way, and as a result develop innovative approaches to new - and old - common problems.
The inaugural Kompas Venture will take place in Budapest, Hungary between 25-28 March 2013 and draw together leaders from:
Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia
"Having worked with the business, NGO and government sectors across CEE for the past 10 years I have realised the region has three needs to leapfrog: leadership pipeline, understanding the value of collaboration among CEE countries and collaborative projects to enhance cultural change and prove win-win for all parties. Common Purpose's Kompas Venture addresses all three in an innovative way. Who will change the fate and increase the competitiveness of the region if not us?"
Eszter Szabó, GE Corporate Communications and PA Leader for CEE
