SBC-wide call to prayer for 2013 issued by Page
Frank Page, president of the SBC Executive Committee, is asking Southern Baptists to come together in 2013 for a year of emphasis on prayer "like none we've ever seen before." Expressing his feeling of urgency, Page is "calling on churches to host prayer events, to host solemn assemblies, to host 40 days of prayer and fasting events. In many churches, "who serves" in leadership is predetermined by a constitutional process, often with little thought given to the spiritual gifts, talents, Christian maturity, education, business savvy, or training an individual brings to the committee. A caution for those in social media
Social media, a relatively new means of expression and communication, has given power to those who had little power in the past. Anyone now has a platform to express himself or herself. There is indeed a sense of liberation in the new world of social media. All State Choir and Orchestra 2013 Illinois Homecoming Tour auditions Plan now for your youth to audition for the 2013 IBSA All State Choir and Orchestra January 26. This summer, choir and orchestra members will experience a worship leadership tour combined with a mission trip. They will minister throughout Illinois by presenting concerts, block parties, and leading other outreach ministries for local churches and associations.
