Alberta amateur sport review - it's your call
|
The ministry of Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation has created a new online survey that asks Albertans to make choices about how they would allocate support to different areas of sport and physical literacy.
The survey at AlbertaSportPlan.ca is one part of a consultation to renew the Alberta Sport Plan. The updated plan will guide the Alberta government's priorities concerning amateur sport in the province for the next 10 years.
At AlbertaSportPlan.ca, Albertans can indicate how they would prioritize six different areas of sport: physical literacy, introduction to sport, recreational sport, competitive sport, high performance sport and sport for development.
The online survey will be available until the end of the day on Sunday, October 13. Your voice is important.
Take the survey and find out more here.

Be prepared for the morning rush
Submitted by: Ellen Pearce, Alberta Health Services
Summer is over and it's time to get back into a routine for the fall. Does this idea fill you with anticipation or dread? A little organization can help you and your family feel calm and prepared for the fall routine.
- Most schools provide a list of supplies needed for each grade. These can often be found online and well before September. Make a list of the supplies your child has from last year and decide what you really need to purchase for the upcoming year. Look for items on sale year round and keep a box or bin of basic school supplies like paper, pencils and erasers at home. Children can access the supplies they need throughout the year.

Ever Active Schools is leading an after school time period pre-conference session on January 23, 2014, at the Shaping the Future conference. We want to share your stories, big or small, and create an online hub where after school program providers can go to seek support. Submit your story by completing this survey. By doing so, your name will be entered into a draw for a free registration to our pre-conference session.

Join the AMA Youth Run Club!
By joining, you'll have access to a provincial run club coordinator, resources and prizes. If you already have a run club at your school, you can still register for additional support. The Alberta Medical Association and Ever Active Schools have partnered to offer this great program to Alberta school communities.
