Health and Physical Education Council Conference
HPEC's annual conference will take place May 2 - 4, 2013 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. This conference provides an opportunity for participants to build skills & knowledge by networking & attending various professional development sessions which support the implementation of the Physical Education and Health programs of study. Call for Presenters ends March 31, 2013.

Spring is just around the corner and we would like to remind you that March is Nutrition Month! Alberta Health Services dietitians have compiled information relevant for school aged children and youth for use by interested schools on the following key topic areas:

Physical Activity to Promote Brain Health

The Alberta Centre for Active Living is proud to sponsor this important half-day Physical Activity Forum in Edmonton and Calgary in May 2013.

 

This presentation will focus on the major findings to date in the area of exercise neuroscience. Dr. Teresa Liu-Ambrose will help audiences, including practitioners and others, gain an appreciation of the important role of exercise in promoting brain health, as people age.
