VETERANS DAY AT SFD
flag-stripes.jpg We welcome back all alumni who are Veterans or currently serving in our military to join us next Wednesday for our Veterans Day morning prayer and presentation of the colors. Please contact Alumni Relations Director Tom Snyder at [email protected] if you are able to be with us that morning. The ceremony will begin at 7:50am, and will last approximately 15 minutes. A light reception will be held following the ceremony in the Franciscan Center.

Please visit our Veteran Alumni page on our school website. We say thank you to all who have served, especially all those in the St. Francis DeSales family.
FRIDAY MORNING MASS
All alumni are welcome to join us for Friday morning mass in the SFD Chapel (7AM - 7:30AM). This week's celebrant is Fr. Charlie Klinger from St. Paul. Mass will be sponsored by the National Honor Society, Cheerleading, Football team and Pep Club.
PUBLIC SERVICE ALUMNI TO BE HIGHLIGHTED
The St. Francis DeSales Office of Alumni Relations is proud to announce that we will highlight careers in Public Service (City/Government officials, law enforcement, EMS, Police, Fire) for our 5th Alumni Professions Night.  This biannual series serves as an opportunity for future and current Stallions to network with professionals in dynamic and innovative fields, as they share their educational and career experiences with our young people.  If you're interested in being a member of our alumni panel, please contact Alumni Relations Director Tom Snyder, at [email protected].

The event will be held Thursday, November 19 at 7pm in the SFD Cafeteria.
CARDINAL TURKSON VISITS SFD
Students and staff greatly enjoyed Cardinal Turkson's visit yesterday. His message was beautiful; encouraging all of us to love creation and one another because God created both. He stated, "We cannot love God if we do not love what God has made." After he spoke to the student body and the guests from other Diocesan schools, Cardinal Turkson blessed a new tree we planted on the south side of the school.

DAILY REFLECTION
Follow the example of Saint Bernard and repeat those well-known words of his: "What is your mission in this life? What does God want from you?" Then abandon yourself totally to His Divine Will. Let Him carry out His plan in you. Let Him dispose of you as He wishes without any reserve whatever! Have a sincere devotion to the holy virgin and to your guardian angel. Finally, remind yourself that, as a superior, you need more humility to command than to obey! Be careful not to be too meticulous in all that you have to do. Only have the right intention to act for the love of God and for His honor and glory! Keep strictly to this resolution; never desire to do anything that is not for God or which could be viewed with displeasure by Him. (Letters 40; O. XXVI, p. 344)
