Hesburgh Lecture Series

Inspired by the late Father Hesburgh's example of lifelong learning, the Hesburgh Lecture Series has brought University faculty to Notre Dame clubs and their local communities since 1986.

The series has grown and evolved over the years, and now includes more than 200 lectures by more than 100 faculty members each year. Topics represent the breadth and depth of Notre Dame's academic expertise, covering everything from architecture and the arts to business, the humanities, and the social sciences, as well as science, technology, engineering, and math.

Each lecture is presented in an accessible, easy-to-understand format for a general audience. Depending on which you attend, you might delve more deeply into current events, dive into sports or social media, or explore topics relating to ethics or health.

Tonight's topic - "What race is and what race is not"
October 27, 6:30 PM in the SFD Little Theatre

The event will be held Thursday, November 19 at 7pm in the SFD Cafeteria.
DAILY REFLECTION
What does it mean to love God with all one's heart? It means to love Him with the totality of our love, loving other things little in comparison. To love God with all one's mind and with all one's thoughts is to keep our intellect occupied in thinking of Him with a pure and simple devotion. To love God with all one's strength is to love Him with a firm love, one that is constant and generous, that never allows itself to be overcome by tribulations but is forever persevering. To love God with one's whole being is to give ourself and to abandon ourself entirely with our whole existence, so as to remain totally subject in obedience to His love. (Sermons 22; O. IX, p. 199)
