STUDENT DIRECTORIES ARE IN!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FOR PARENTS
St. Francis DeSales High School relies on parent volunteers to help reach out to current families on behalf of this year's Embracing Opportunities through the Power of the Stallion Community Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is one of the school's most vital fund raisers because it helps supports the current year operating budget.  Please click here to view volunteer opportunities
FRIENDS IN THE COURTYARD WRAP UP

Friends in the Courtyard Parents, alumni, past parents, faculty and staff, and friends gathered on Wednesday, October 9 in the gymnasium at St. Francis DeSales High School for the Friends in the Courtyard Wine Tasting and Auction.  The community came together to sample the finest wines from around the world plus a variety of beers from local breweries.  Guests also enjoyed fabulous hors d'oeuvres from Carfagna's and were able to bid on 200 silent and live auction items.  The event raised over $38,000 (net).  Proceeds from Friends in the Courtyard provide financial support to our co-curricular programs including athletics, band, drama, and over 30 scholastic and interest-based clubs. Click here to view the co-curricular grant distribution.

We are grateful for the help of our dedicated volunteers, donors, and sponsors for making Friends in the Courtyard Wine Tasting and Auction a successful and fantastic event.  A special thank you to our event chairs; Mike and Becky Murray, Tammy and Pakie McGinnis, Cathy Wickert, and Sam and Jeanne Carfagna.  Thanks to our committee volunteers as well.  They all worked many long hours in the organization of the event.

 STALLIONS IN THE HEADLINES
Congratulations to sophomore Nick Musci for his verbal commitment to play lacrosse at The Ohio State University. Nick had an amazing freshman year and summer to impress numerous collegiate coaches, prompting an offer from Ohio State. We are looking forward to three more seasons at DeSales and watching Nick progress to his full potential. Nick is taking the reigns as a leader on the team and will be our second Stallion to be playing at OSU. Alum J.T. Blubaugh is currently playing for the Buckeyes.

DAILY REFLECTION

It still remains to us to specify the conditions necessary to pray well. I know that the old masters of the Spirit specified several when they were dealing with this subject--some fifteen, some eight, etc. But since those numbers seem to be excessive, I will be content to mention only three. The first is that we must be little and humble, the second, that we must have a goodly supply of hope; and the third is to keep our minds fixed on Jesus Christ crucified. (Sermons 8; O. IX, p. 53)
