A NEW LOOK!
Short & Sweet. After receiving feedback on our email communication to alums, we hope you will agree on our new format of the Weekly DeTales. You will receive a brief bit of e-news from us every Friday (instead of multiple times in one week or one every few weeks). The DeTales will include a spotlight on an alum, current students, and/or an event. We hope you will enjoy this new look!
FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear Fellow Alumni,

It is really difficult to imagine that today marks the official end of our first academic quarter.  I would like to take this occasion to express how proud I am of our students and faculty.  During this past quarter we were provided with many opportunities, both in the classroom and outside of it, for growth; However, I think we would all agree none of these were as poignant as our collective experience with the death of veteran faculty member, Bob Lennon.  I could not be more proud of our community for the remarkable grace expressed during this extremely difficult time.

ALUMS IN THE HEADLINES

Proud to Support a Stallion: Dan Hawkins, from the class of 1994, needs your vote! After graduating from DeSales, Dan went on to study at Bowling Green State University and The Ohio State University College of Law.  Dan married Amy Wilson (also class of '94) and the couple have 3 children. Dan spent his career as an assistant Franklin County prosecutor, heading up the Special Victims Unit which prosecuted crimes of violence against women and children. This past July, the governor appointed Dan to fill a vacancy on the Franklin County Environmental Court. The timing of Dan's appointment, however, means that he must stand for election this November in order to retain the seat. Please tell all your friends, family and colleagues to vote for our own SFD alum Judge Dan Hawkins on November 5thFor more information, you can visit his website www.JudgeHawkins.com or like him on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/ElectJudgeHawkins. You can also email the campaign at judgedanhawkins@gmail .com if you would like to donate, request a yard sign, or volunteer.

DAILY REFLECTION

Turning to my most gracious and merciful God, I desire to serve Him and to love Him now and forever. But if, through temptation by the enemy or human frailty, I should chance to transgress in any point, or fail to adhere to this my resolution and dedication, I protest from this moment and am determined, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, to rise as soon as I perceive my fall and return again to God's mercy without any hesitation or delay whatsoever. (INT. Part I, Ch. 20; O. III, p. 60)
