STALLIONS IN THE HEADLINES

Senior Cody Sarisky (pictured left) was on AM 820 Catholic Radio last Sunday with a few members of the Church of Resurrection youth group. The show was on self image for teenagers.

Congratulations to junior Alyssa Sherman (pictured right) for being named Atlas Butler's March Strength in Service Award winner. Alyssa will be featured in an issue of THIS WEEK COMMUNITY NEWSPAPERS. A representative from Atlas Butler will deliver a $250 check to the school and Alyssa will receive a White Castle Crave Party Pack.

The St. Vincent DePaul Easter Party at St.Stephen's Community House was a huge success. Everyone had a great time. The afternoon was filled with playing games, hunting eggs and eating candy and cookies! Members of the St. Vincent DePaul Club are pictured below with some of the party guests.
The junior class took part in several inspiring experiences over the past two weeks during their Urban Plunge retreat days. Each student had an opportunity to serve their community in some way, as they ventured out in to the community. The students pictured below right were picking up trash at Shepherd's Corner, a Dominican-run farm in Blacklick.

We are proud to announce that junior Keagan Lipak

will be attending Boys State along with classmate Benjamin Dumm. Boys State is a very prestigious nomination and highly regarded by college admissions personnel. The boys will attend a one-week conference at Bowling Green State University from June 9-16 with top boys from all over the state of Ohio. They will be immersed in forming a mock government to fully understand the workings of local and state government.  We are also happy to announce that Coley Tuel will be attending Girls State this summer at Mt. Union College from June 16-22. Grace Alguirewas selected as the alternate. Girls State is a one-week immersion in learning the workings of local and state government. Girls will run a "mock government" in an interactive and fun week of activities, leadership building and networking with high-level women in government and politics. Attendees pictured below.

The calendar may have said spring, but it was wintry hike for the Environmental Club on March 24 at Blendon Woods Metro Park. The approaching snow grounded the birds, and a dozen species of waterfowl were observed at Thoreau Lake with a  gaggle of wild turkeys in the distance. The highlight was a stunning display of the flight dance of the American Woodcock, commonly known as the Timberdoodle. Even though the temperature said winter, there were still telltale signs of spring among the birds. Pictured below:Taylor Shook, Brittany Shook, Emily Piatt, Blair Verfurth, and Mrs. Polemeni.

SPIRITUAL REFLECTION

So you want to know the best time to serve the Lord? It is the present time, which is in your possession here and now. The past is no longer yours; the future has not come yet and is uncertain. The best time is really the present, which you should spend in serving God. If you want to recover lost time, do your best, with fervor and diligence, in the time that still remains to you. (Sermons 16; O. IX, p. 132)
