STALLIONS IN THE HEADLINES

Junior Catalina Odio (pictured left) will be taking part in an international community service program this summer. The program is called Amigos de las Americas (Friends of the Americas), and since its institution in 1965 has sent over 25,000 American teens to all parts of central and South America on service trips designed to better the lives of poor urban and rural communities. Participants in Amigos live with a host family in their assigned locations and, for a period of six to eight weeks, engage the community in social wellness projects aimed at improving the livelihoods of the residents. Catalina needs your support. Please click here for more information on how you can help!

SFDHS has 12 students signed up to host students during the French exchange. A few more slots are available. If you are interested, please see Ms. Andrus or Mrs. Costello right away so that they can get your paperwork in next week.

SPIRITUAL REFLECTION

As soon as you are conscious of being tempted, follow the example of children when they see a wolf or a bear out in the country. They immediately run to the arms of their father or mother, or at least call to them for help and protection. In the same way, turn to God and implore His mercy and help. This is the remedy Our Lord Himself has taught us: "Be on guard and pray that you may not be put to the test." [Mk 14:38] (INT. IV. Ch. 7; O. III, p. 304)
