Canned Food Drive Results

Thank you to our entire community for your participation in the annual canned food drive. We collected approximately 12,000 non-perishable food items, and delivered them to St. Stephen's Community House and Christian Assembly. We will also be donating a portion of the monetary donations to St. James the Less Food Pantry. Students pictured below at St. Stephen's on the final delivery day.

SFDHS' second annual Poetry Out Loud Competition will take place next Tuesday after school in the Little Theatre. We will have 18 students competing in this national poetry recitation competition.  The winner will move on to the state competition in March, and the Ohio winner will move on to the national finals in Washington D.C. in May to compete for $20,000. Please click here to view list of participating students. We hope you come out and support them!

Congratulations to senior Simon Cain for being selected as December's Westerville Rotary Student of the Month. Guidance Counselor Mr. Baker accompanied Simon to a luncheon at Villa Milano yesterday for this recognition. Pictured left.

SPIRITUAL REFLECTION

I would like to talk to you about Saint Ambrose, archbishop of Milan, whose feast we are about to celebrate...We should have a particular veneration for him because he was the spiritual father of Saint Augustine. He was a lovable man, full of charity and zeal for the glory of God, and a vigilant pastor; in a word, a man enriched with every virtue, very careful in carrying out all his priestly duties...Although gentle and forgiving by nature, all the same he did not fail to show firmness in correcting and punishing those who were guilty (e.g., the emperor Theodosius), without letting himself be deterred by other considerations. A man of God is recognized by his works. (Sermons 38; O. IX, p. 145)
