STALLIONS IN THE HEADLINES

We are pleased to announce that sophomore Madeline Foley has been selected to attend the HOBY (Hugh O'Brien) Youth Leadership forum. Eunice Agyapong, also a sophomore, was selected as the alternate. The Girls Soccer team continues to make the news! Click here to read a great story by Frank Agin about the 2012 team.

ALUMS IN THE NEWS: Josh Fitzpatrick, class of 2008, was informed that he received his first choice for service selection: United States Navy Pilot.  He is "one of the few" that received this honor.  Josh will attend flight school soon after his Football season is finished.  Navy will close out the regular season next Saturday, December 8 in Philadelphia as the annual Army/Navy game will air on National TV.  Josh (#59), playing Defensive End, will be wearing a special patch which signifies he is officially an officer with his service selection as a Navy pilot.  Josh will get the opportunity to play in a Bowl Game too, as Navy has accepted an invitation to play in the Fight Hunger Bowl on December 29 in San Francisco.

Also, making headlines is Jimmy Vahalik, '07, who has just signed a Major League Baseball contract with the Baltimore Orioles.

SPIRITUAL REFLECTION

The cross is the royal gate by which we enter the temple of sanctity. He who looks for it elsewhere will not find even a trace. Do not look upon crosses except in the light of the great cross of Christ, and you will find them so small and so welcome that you will begin to love suffering because you will find in it more consolation than in any pleasure...Have a great love for the cross, which, if you look upon it with the eyes of love, will seem to be made of gold. (Letters 1983; O. XXI, p. 22)
