Smart InVEST with Doug Smart
Doug Smart from Smart Insurance Services located in Abilene recently gave a talk to a senior class at Abilene High School who are college bound. They had requested an Insurance 101 type class. Doug used the InVEST provided PowerPoint Presentation. The kids had lots of questions and Doug will be going back in April with a follow up talk about employment opportunities in the insurance field. 
"The great thing about this is that the teachers all have computers and the ability to project them onto a screen or large monitor, so all I have to do is give the teacher the web address and put in my codes and it pops up and you are off and running with your presentation. Super easy to use, very professional. Most agents would only need about 10 minutes prep. time, walking through the slides once, and they would be ready to go!!" Doug explained about the whole InVEST program and encouraging more agents to participate.

April 2016 NFIP Changes are Coming 
Due to increases in catastrophic event frequency and severity, and to address the associated rise in expenses, Congress has passed numerous updates to help stabilize the National Flood Insurance Program over the last several years, including reforms such as BW12 and most recently the HFIAA. Continuing with these efforts, FEMA is preparing to roll out additional changes in April.
