INQUIRY: ENPC

I am looking at getting ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) up and going in our facility. I was just curious of how many CAH facilities offer this program (have their own instructors).

Responses:

• Beartooth: We do not currently require ENPC, nor do we have an instructor on staff.
• Sheridan Memorial: We do require ENPC within 2 years of hire.  One of our casual RN's is a trainer for MHN and she coordinates the education here.
• Prairie Community: We would like to offer ENPC here but do not have an instructor.
• Fallon Medical: We do not require ENPC.
• Pioneer Medical Center: We do not require ENPC here though I do have my certification and am looking to take an instructor course. I contacted Robin Suzor at rsuzor@mt.gov about instructor classes and she is getting one together the first weekend in May.

 
INQUIRY: Patient Visitation Rights

Discussion occurring from a Standards Call notice on tags C-1001 and 1002. 

• Sheridan: We have a policy but needs to be revised as some things were inadvertently left out. You can find more information on patient rights and visitation rights in the Federal Register http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2010-11-19/pdf/2010-29194.pdf 482.13 addressing patient rights requiring hospitals to inform patients of their rights.  The visitation rights, Part 485, are included in this also.
