St. Matthias Mission, Vision, and Opportunities to Respond and Support their Fulfillment

For the past three months we've had our Vision Elements posted at church, on the Website, and (hopefully) on your refrigerators as a reminder to be praying for their fulfillment. We've been making visible and behind the scenes progress. To help make these happen we are looking for:

  • Two new Sunday School teachers for this Fall
  • Up to six new Sunday School teachers for Spring 2013
  • Three team members for our Ancient-Future Worship alternative worship team
  • Two host-families and two or more small group leadership couples/individuals for planting new small groups
  • One or more new Youth Sponsors
  • Three new Prayer Partner Ministers
  • 4 Vision Elements Poster

Be sure to pick up your 4 Vision Elements poster from the back table for your use at home. Please do three things:

  • Pray that we would fulfill these vision elements
  • Memorize them
  • Be part of a Small Group
Give us your feedback on the Vision expression: "The Vision of St. Matthias is to be a contagious, loving, equipping, serving community of Christians".  You can give this to any Vestry member or Fr. Scott - We want to know if we are hearing God speak to us.

Prayer Partner Update

The Prayer Partner Ministry - which offers itself to pray with those with desire for God's healing, comfort, strength, forgiveness, and/or encouragement - is updating how it will be involved in the Sunday Service. To be more visible and to better accommodate feedback, starting November 4, the Prayer Partners will be available at the end of the service just inside the altar rail at the prie-dieus (prayer desks). If you wish to have someone partner with you in prayer, lay hands on you, or seek God's answer in prayer, please come to the front pew at the end of the service until an the team is available.

We are also exploring a Healing Service at an alternative time consistent with our Vision Element: Alternative Worship Services to attract those not currently worshiping at St. Matthias, at which, of course, everyone will be invited and welcome. Don't hesitate to let the team know your feedback: Peter and Patricia Collins, Pam Rayburn, Jim and Donna Rosa, Gael Phaneuf, and Fr. Scott.

Please do let us know if we have any incorrect information.

The St. Matthias calendar is also online: click the Calendar tab. To add events to the calendar, please email appropriate details to Micky at stmatthias@comcast.net. You can subscribe to the St. Matthias calendar in Outlook or iCal by following the link information at the bottom of the calendar page. This puts St. Matthias events on your calendar!
