Addressing Redundant Equipment
The ED has clarified that material and labor costs for redundant or backup equipment that does not operate or is not included in project savings are considered to be ineligible project costs. These costs must be subtracted from project invoices and may not factor into the incentive cost cap calculation.
The costs of this equipment may only be included as eligible project costs if it is operated during the year and factored into the energy saving calculations (e.g., the primary equipment operates for 98 percent of the year and the backup equipment operates for 2 percent). In these cases, the applicant would need to show evidence of this operation. The CAA Technical Support team is available to answer any questions you might have regarding redundant equipment. |

Customer Agreements No Longer Required for Customized Solutions
Effective May 6, 2013, the Customer Agreement has been eliminated entirely from the Customized Solutions Incentives Application; you are no longer required to submit Customer Agreements when submitting Installation Reports. The terms and conditions previously captured in the Customer Agreement have been incorporated into the Project Application and the expanded Project Approval Letter. Other programs, including Savings By Design and RCx, will continue to require a Customer Agreement, though SCE countersignatures will no longer be required. |
