The incentive amounts for your Customized Solutions projects are based on estimates of first-year energy savings, which you are required to calculate when submitting an application. But there is another piece of data in the Online Application Tool that can help you estimate the energy savings of your project beyond the first year: effective useful life (EUL).
EUL is the estimate of the median number of years that a Solution will remain in place and operable. Your Project Agreement, in accordance with California policy, requires that the new equipment or system retrofit must guarantee energy savings for the effective useful life of the product or five years.
