Summertime Safety
With summer winding down and people squeezing in one last vacation or long weekend, there's no shortage of outdoor activities for the whole family. But it's important to remember that "innocent" fun can quickly turn dangerous through inattention, carelessness or lack of common sense. Grilling, swimming, diving, cycling, mowing the lawn or simply enjoying the sun can all lead to potentially hazardous situations. In addition, insect bites, dehydration, and improper food preparation and storage present their own dangers. Awareness and education provide the keys to preventing deadly outcomes.
