Friday Night Tasting Lineup

2013 Oxford Landing Viognier

Very pretty. Classic, floral, nice richness. Golden apple. Some candied notes on the finish. More ripe aromatics. 13.5% plus acidification. The Rare 4$↓ rating. Lifted musk and honeysuckle aroma, with a hint of poached quince and mandarin peel. Richly textured on the palate with classic Viognier minerality complemented perfectly with flavors of ripe peaches and apricots, grapefruit pith and lemongrass. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Our Price: 8.57

2011 Yalumba Y Series Merlot 2011

Dog label. Softer, more bottle age. Calmed down. Black plum, tasty. Big and round. Good fit. Classic varietal aromas of black currants, spiced fruit cake, violets and vanilla lead to a medium bodied palate with flavors ranging from fruit cake to black cherry with very fine almost velvet tannins. Serve with seared Kangaroo fillets, a red currant reduction and sweet potato mash.

Our Price: 10.97

2011 Oxford Landing Shiraz

Pretty tasty, serious grip, white pepper. Some fat. Lifted aromas of plums and black cherries with hints of violets and white pepper. The generous palate has dark berry fruit flavors of blackberry and plum, complimented by soft, supple tannins with hints of chocolate and spice. The subtle oak influence and bright fruit flavors linger during the long succulent finish.

Our Price: 8.57

2011 Wirra Wirra Scrubby Rise Red

Shiraz / Cab / Petite Verdot. Adelaide. Rich. Organic. A lot of biodynamic fruit. Ripeness, weight. New oak. McLaren Vale. Bright fresh raspberry notes dominate with a blackberry core backed up by silky tannins and finishing with a clean and vibrant freshness. Subtle oak supports the palate. "One assumes the small boat being rowed along the top of a vine row does not indicate a macabre sense of humor, for this is another success for the vintage, with sweet red and black fruits embedded in the chocolate running through the length of the palate. A delicious wine for early drinking." - 92 Points Australian Wine Companion
