Friday Night Tasting Lineup

2011 Urbina Rioja Blanco - Viura

The wonderful 2011 Blanco is made from the viura grape, & fermented & aged in stainless steel. The inviting nose of melon, apple, & pear is irresistible & leads you to a palate which is smooth-textured, flavorful & lively. Marvellous as an aperitif at the start of an evening's entertaining - the concentrated flavours & zingy acidity will work wonders with a variety of seasonal canapés.

Our Price: 14.57

2012 Valleoscuro Rosado

PRIETO PICUDO: Indigenous grape variety from the Benavente Valleys. It is an easily identifiable grape from its small cone shaped clusters, & deep purple/blue coloring. It produces clean wines with nice red fruit & great freshness. Nose: Clean & strong aromas with predominance of red fruit, such as strawberry, with hints of peach & blue flowers. Mouth: Fresh palate of strawberry with hints of sweet violets. Some hint of carbonic, very characteristic of the variety, & a nicely combined acidity, which leads to a round & harmonic finish.

Our Price: 10.57

2010 Bodegas Bleda "Montesinos"

Jumilla - Scent of cherries & blackberries, fruity on the tongue & well balanced with soft tannins. Food recommendation: perfect fit for everyday cooking, pasta, poultry, soups & salads The DO Jumilla has a vineyard area of42,206 hectares and produces mostly dark, full-bodied red wine. The soils contain a lot of chalk & organic matter, which prevented the phylloxera infestation in the region. She is one of the areas in Spain & Europe, where still ungrafted vines grow. The best grapes are vinified from the local Monastrell grape & aged in oak barrels.

Our Price: 11.97

2007 Berceo Crianza

Nose - high intensity, with excellent aromas of ripe fruit & well assembled, with hints of toffee, coffee, cocoa & spicy balsamic notes. Structured & persistent, elegant & unctuous thanks to the noble tannins, with a sweet feeling interspersed with menthol that appear in the aftertaste. Harvest of the grapes by hand, whole, clean & free of leaves, at their optimum ripeness. After de-stemming, the wine was carried out by the traditional method, & after racking malolactic fermentation took place. Then began the process of aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 70% French (Nevers, Allier & Tronçais) & 30% American (Appalachian & Wisconsin) . Then he proceeded to filter. It has been 6 months in bottle before leaving the warehouse.
