Friday Night Tasting Lineup

Campos de Estrellas Brut Nature NV

Just 10km from the sea, these 45 hectares have a silicate sandy soil which enhances acidity and has great drainage. In an underground cellar, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle, followed by 15 months ageing on the lees. Finally, the bottles are disgorged to remove the yeasts and the bottled is topped up with the same wine, with no sugar being added. In the Brut Nature, the acidity is more to the fore and the yeastiness from the ageing is more outstanding. This is a new favorite, pure and bright with zero dosage = super dry.

Our Price: 13.57

NEW - 2011 Campos de Celtas Albarino

Around three hundred hectares of trellised vines, in the traditional 'parral' system. Albariņo, the tiny bunches with tiny grapes giving a natural intensity. Campos de Celtas is made from Albariņo alone, as the DO regulations dictate. A blend of grapes from slightly different soils gives a wine which has plenty of crisp acidity but also ripe pear and apple flavors. Juicy, clean, fresh lime, zip. Tasty, pretty. Classic. Needed a textbook Albarino - here it is!

Our Price: 17.57

NEW VINTAGE - 2011 Campos de Viento Tempranillo

Located in the province of Cuenca, the vineyards to the north of Mota del Cuervo are on rolling land at around 700m above sea level. The soils are deep, permitting a greater penetration of the soils. There are several different plots, altogether about 100 Ha. of vines giving small, concentrated berries. Campos de Viento Tempranillo is a pure expression of the grape variety, achieved by blending wines from different plots. Again! Grippy, coffee, mineral, leather. Lengthy. Blackberry. Juicy acid. A favorite in 2010, now 2011.

Our Price: 10.57

NEW - 2010 Campos de Luz Garnacha Crianza

Funky, fruit more on the nose. Earthy, oaky. Decanter - Cariņena, Rest Of Mainland, Spain. (Red - Still Dry)Earthy and spicy but with very generous, soft fruit. Finishes well with black plum notes.Aged for 12 months in barrels made of 60% American, 30% French and 10% Hungarian oak. Aromas of jammy red fruits, vanilla and toffee. On the palate it is well-structured, soft and smooth. Nice to see big fat Garnacha balanced by oak.
