2011 Lungarotti Bianco Torre di Gianno
Torgiano DOC Trebbiano with Grechetto. From Umbria Italy, 70% Trebbiano & 30% Grechetto fermented in stainless. Free run juice, cryomaceration & further fermentation in stainless; preserved on the lees until bottling. Attractive aromas of key lime pie & a floral touch - citrus fruit, orange blossoms and fresh fruit salad; lighter citrus, more tree fruit, Dry and with good structure, fresh acidity & fruit flavors of green melon & pear, pleasant nutty edge. Slightly bitter mineral finish, decent length. Risotto, seafood or pasta. Excellent aperitif, white meats, seafood, onion soup, raclette, soft cheeses, and charcuterie. The name Torgiano is a composite of Torre (Tower) and Giano (The Roman God Janus).

2010 Bersano Barbera d'Asti
Sour cherry & floral notes, raspberry, brambly. Light & pretty. Juicy acids, light / very light dried herb note. Varietal correctness. Smooth, supple, lightly complex, ripe cherry. 1 year in big slavonian oak barrel. Fruity nose of plum, cherry, & blackberry jam, subtle hint vanilla. Dry, medium body, noticeable, but not harsh tannins. Flavors followed the nose; vanilla and jammy berries. Light earthy, strawberry/ cherry fruit flavors, leather notes & good acidity. "Costalunga" is made with Barbera grapes from vineyards around Nizza Monferrato, which is the classic area. Considered the wine for everything. Currant flavors tight on the elegant finish. Best with appetizers pastas, pizzas, bbq steak and cheese.

2008 Lungarotti Rubesco di Torgiano
Rich & fruity attack followed quickly by some drying tannic grip. Light on its feet. Crisp & bright, tart cherry & tobacco. Balanced body. Aromas spicy pepper & sweet tobacco; background jam & violet. Good concentration, mature & harmonious tannins, long-lasting fruity finish. Sangiovese (70%), Canaiolo (30%). Stainless with 15 days of skin maceration; one year in cask & one in bottle. Rubesco Rosso di Torgiano was one of Italy's first DOC wines, dating back to 1968. Unfiltered, delicate notes of cloves, wild berries.

2010 Bersano Dolcetto d'Alba
Aromas of raspberries with underlying balsamic. Orange peel, yellow peach and apricot are followed by tons of blueberry at the very end Pleasant with scent of ripe cherries and licorice. Sour cherries, raspberries and dusty earth. Palate is harmonious, lasting with a slight herbaceous note. Tart acid, soft tannins, the fruit tastes like tangy cherries & raspberries. Some earth and charcoal flavors add complexity. Only medium-bodied, it has excellent fruit and a funky, well-defined finish. Good with entire meal, but more with 1st courses, risottos, light meat dishes & medium aged cheeses. That said, it's more of a simple wine for easy drinking. Medium finish.
