Friday Night Tasting Lineup
Paul Mas Brut - Cremant de Limoux - NV
Tangy, final dosage lighter, leaving this Brut nice and dry. 10% Mauzac, for that real-deal Limoux feeling. St. Hilaire estate, by the nuns who started it all, bubbles-wise (100 years or so before Dom. Perignon) - juicy, pretty. Hand-picked. A deal. Floral, light. Soft mousse. We had been waiting on the deal to come through, and now that it has, we are happy to get this wine in front of you!

Paul Mas Brut Rosé - Cremant de Limoux - NV
Bright strawberry fruit, cool as well. ! year lees contact. Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Noir. Dropped the cost - (we pass the savings to you - both of the sparkling wines would have been over $20) - all estate fruit. Juicy, rhubarb, nice length on the finish. Strawberry dominates with nice tangy acids. Favorite of the lineup when I tasted through all of the featured Paul Mas stuff again recently. Good juice, here to stay for a bit.

2010 Paul Mas Old Vine Carignan - Savignac Vineyard
Deep color, cool nose. Fresh herb, cured meat - medium weight. Cool stuff. Rose on the nose, medium acid. 55 year old vines, 5,000 cases made. Decanter "Winery of the Year". "Located on the hillsides of the Hérault overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the Savignac vineyard is the ideal growing location for Carignan grapes. These mature vines, some over 50-years old, have reached a perfect natural balance. Even though produced in the Côteaux du Languedoc, Cru Grés de Montpellier appellation, this single varietal wine can only be designated IGP Pays de L'Hérault. On the nose, spices and blackberry give way to aromas of cherry jam and cocoa over toasted oak notes. A full-bodied, rich and mellow wine, with delicious velvety tannins and complex flavors." - Chateau Paul Mas, Esprit du Vin.

2011 Paul Mas Malbec
Single vineyard, all estate stuff. Some leather grip, black plum fruit. Good deal! New vintage of this popular wine. Pretty full and round, concentration & intensity. "Paul Mas Estate Single Vineyards Collection wines come from Jean-Claude Mas' vineyards in the Languedoc region in the South of France. The Languedoc region is perfectly situated to grow the Malbec varietal, as the region experiences 300+ days of sunshine every year. The Malbec grapes spend a longer period on the vine, resulting in a grape that is filled with juicy, bold flavor." "This wine has an excellent structure, velvety texture, and a nice acidity combined with softness and flavors of ripe berries, thyme, rosemary, and juniper berry bushes. Bold and delicious" - Chateau Paul Mas, Esprit du Vin.
