This Friday, we will be tasting a selection of Italian wines from New Vintage.  The lineup is below.

Monday, January 21, East End Wines will begin a series of wine tasting and educational classes!  If you are interested, check out the invitation to be sent separately; seating is limited, so don't miss out!

Friday Night Tasting Lineup

 

  

2011 Buonamico Montecarlo Bianco  

Trebbiano Toscano, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon, Semillon & Roussanne. Fermented & aged in temperature controlled stainless steel. Nose - Intense, fresh, floral with a pleasant fruit note. Fresh, dry, lightly spicy. Pairings - Fish Starters or vegetables starters, sea food, fried fish. Elegant & understated fruit.

2011 Buonamico Rosato  

Cercatoia, Montecarlo municipality. Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Syrah. Fermented in stainless steel with controlled temperature. Nose - Intense, clear, with cherry and morello cherry notes. Palate - Fresh, fruity, more cherry - bright and agreeably balanced. Pairing - Mixed appetizers, fish soup, soup with beans and lentils.

2010 San Silvestro 'Ottone' Barbera d'Asti  

8 day maceration in temperature controlled stainless steel. 100% malolactic, with maturation in stainless steel as well. Deep red, with fresh fruit & bright acids, ripe berries, cherry pie filling, softer tannins. Named after Otto I, who donated the land that became the Monferrato. Cold meats, pasta, red meats. Chilled with a summer salad.

2010 Costa di Bussia Barbera d'Alba  

Temperature controlled stainless steel fermentation over 7 days, malolactic fermentation in oak. Aged 12 mo. In 3000 L barrels. Fresh strawberry & Mirabelle plum, with some light spice notes. Medium bodied, fresh. Will go well with grilled meats, poultry, charcuterie, antipasti.

2009 San Silvestro Langhe doc Finalmente  

60%Barbera - 40% Nebbiolo. 8 day maceration, fermentation in stainless steel. 100% malolactic, 12 months in French oak. Dark floral notes of violet on the nose, berry jam & spice. Balanced. Lengthy, understated finish. Pair with Carbonara, red meat, grilled fillet, porcini mushrooms, goat cheese.
