Friday Night Tasting Lineup

2011 Cava Francesc Ricart Brut

Just picked this up on Thursday, the first bubbles from our friends at Askari OH LLC, being shown by Baubak Askari. Nice package. Floral, citrusy (tangerine), clean & pretty. Fresh, softer acid. Like it. Friendly. Traditional method, aged in bottle for 14 months before release. From Almansa< Spain, with Xarello, Macabeo, Parellada. Light color, floral nose, great balance.

Our Price: 14.97

Rossinyol Rose de Moragas Cava NV

Low temperature wine making, preserves fruit character, from Fermi Bohigas. 100% Trepat, in cellar for a minimum 1 year before disgorgement. Trepat is indigenous to north-eastern Spain. Now best known for making clean-tasting pink cavas like this. Fresh strawberry fruit on the nose, with some cranberry, more brambly fruit, a bit more heft on the palate with currant & cherries, cassis. Nice mineral backbone. Light bodied, balanced, very light pressure used to press the grapes, so it does not pick up much tannin there. Nice tangy acid.

Our Price: 15.97

Graham Beck Rose NV

Raspberry and cherry on the nose - red fruit flavors carry through on the palate. One of the best bottles of bubbles for the money that we have. Light chalky mineral and herb. From Robertson (where the limestone is) & Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa. Pinot Noir & Chardonnay. Amazing that a wine this delicate & fine is coming out of such a hot climate. Matured on the lees for 36 mo. Crazy good, amazing price (we just lowered it) and a go-to pick.

Our Price: 16.97

2008 Graham Beck Blanc de Blancs

Made with Champagne clones planted in the Robertson vineyards, with rising dough on the nose, and a creamy, nut inflected / mineral palate. Half of the Chardonnay gets fermented in barrel, and the wine spends 3 years on the lees. Pieter "Bubbles" Ferreira has been making the wines for Graham Beck for over two decades.

Our Price: 26.57

Godme Brut Reserve Premier Cru Champagne NV

Our earliest tweet about it - "Godme Brut Rsv 1er Cru - 52.97 - pretty toast & pear, yeasty. Creamy, bright acid. We thought this was a bargain for how tasty. Green apple." Solid, toasty, with lightly spiced tree fruit (pear & green apple), citrus (pink grapefruit), ginger, cream. Has some nice cashew on the nose. Bright acidity, pretty full-bodied. A steal, and will hold up for years to come. Smoky mineral undertones. Finesse at an amazingly low price, we are very happy with this wine. Complex & rewarding.

Our Price: 42.57

10% off of 4 bottles of wine

15% off of 12 bottles or more of wine
